  Here's some good economic news: Existing home sales rose in May to their highest levels since November 2009, when stimulus tax breaks juiced the market. That's according to the National Association of Realtors, which reported existing-home sales rose 4.2 percent in May to a seasonally adjusted rate of 5.2 million. Jump in Home Prices Across the US

 U.S. home prices jumped 12.1 percent in April from a year ago, the most since March 2006. More buyers and a limited supply of available homes have lifted prices in most cities across the country, a sign of a broad-based housing recovery. The Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller 20-city home price index released Tuesday also rose 2.5 percent in April from March, the biggest month-over-month gain on records dating back to 2000. The Federal Reserve Bank States Home Sales Continue to Rise in St. Louis

 Real Estate and Construction Home sales have continued to increase throughout most of the Eighth District on a year-over-year basis. Compared with the same period in 2012, April 2013 year-to-date home sales were up 16 percent in Louisville, 32 percent in Little Rock, 7 percent in Memphis, and 13 percent in St. Louis.
